Howday Inn Allow You Convert Your iPhone to the Room Key

Holiday Inn will be in next month testing technology that allows you to convert to your room key for your iPhone - but some readers said they are skeptical of the attempt.

"No, thank you, I will keep my room key in my hand," Hotel occupancy readers LOfromMO said after Monday's. "What else can break the damage of electronic or other."

Because some of the problems of this technology (see hotel occupancy from last week's story), I asked, CEO, to discuss issues of common concern, he heard.Pascal Metivier Ettyville open manner that the safety of the technology.

Hotel Staff: housewives protest heavy beds
Twitter: According to the hotel occupancy
Marriott: new "version" of the hotel opening this summer
"We reflect the fundamental safety of mobile phones today have provided a high level," he said.

Nevertheless, metivier said he was not surprised by the question.

"This is new," he said. "These issues are all valid questions."

Public way, in fact, is expanding its Web site's "frequently asked questions" section, in order to solve these problems. "Whenever there is a notice, we are working with the problem bomarded," he said.

The technology will always be a need to select vs.

Metivier emphasized that public way 'technology will always choose the hotel guests. The two Holiday Inn, will test the technology, for example, will only be installed in about 20% of the hotel room door tax.

"Even if you open the way to register the application (), you can still decide to use your door locks, since there are still traditional locks key card reader," metivier told me. "This is a choice. It allows consumers to choose what best for them."

The idea is that if you go to the pool, forget your phone - or, if your phone is running the juice, you can still go to reception to get a old-fashioned key card.

How does it work

Basics: Guests who choose to try "quick check" to the hotel's smart phone number and open the way to download 'Application. Then, two or three days prior to arrival, they will receive a text message that contains their room number and a unique coding and encryption of voice, they will use the unlock their hotel room doors. The code will be used once, then reset itself. (To get to work on how visual it is, I found that 32 seconds of video on Youtube.com.)

One way is to open way for systems to attract hotel owners, is their additional equipment upgrade, which contains a microchip existing hotel, door locks, but not the hotel owners to invest in a completely new locking mechanism. Microchip's listening to the audio code, smart phones and chip validation from the voice, he said.
