Sonic and DivX in Audio Tech Merger

Sonic Solutions Inc. (SNIC) and DivX (DIVX's) today announced they have signed a merger agreement. DivX investors will receive 0.514 ordinary shares and 3.75 shares of acoustic element DivX shares. According to CEO Dave Habiger, he said: "The sound mix and DivX is expected to become the platform, tools of the premier supplier of high quality video entertainment available almost any type of consumer electronics equipment technology."

Using Tuesday's closing price of $ 323 million contract value per share of about DivX 9.83,40% to yesterday's close. The transaction is expected to be in September 2010.

As a whole, media technology, and software stock index rose 2% in one day. DivX is soaring, up 23%, due to the merger announcement, although it has Sonic from the buyer as the high drop down.

Other local departments, Avid Technology Model (AVID), Dolby Laboratories (DLB) are, DTS Inc. (DTSI) company, and RealNetworks (RNWK), and are active day trading. SeaChange International (SEAC) and SRS Labs (SRSL) has declined less than -1% on the day.
